David Levin
Chief Executive Officer -
David was appointed as UBM's chief executive officer in April 2005, having previously been chief executive of Symbian, a mobile phone software licensing company, since April 2002. He joined Symbian from Psion PLC, the handheld computing company, where he was chief executive from February 1999. Prior to that, he spent five years with the international business-publishing group Euromoney Institutional Investor, as chief operating officer and before that as president of Institutional Investor in New York. Previously he worked with the venture capital group Apax Partners, and with the consultancy firm Bain and Company for five years, mostly in Asia. David has an MBA from Stanford University and an MA from Oxford.

Nigel Wilson
Chief Financial Officer & Deputy Chief Executive Officer -
Nigel was appointed to the board as chief financial officer in 2001. Prior to that he was group finance director of Viridian Group plc from 1996 to 2000, and became managing director of Viridian Capital in 2000. Nigel is a non-executive director of Halfords PLC where he also chairs the audit committee. Previous appointments include group finance director at Waste Management International plc, Chief Executive, Corporate G.P.A., head of corporate finance and group commercial director of Dixons Group plc, managing director of Stanhope Properties plc and a consultant at mckinsey. Nigel has a PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Adrian Barrick
Chief Executive Officer, UBM Built Environment -
Adrian was appointed chief executive of UBM Built Environment in October 2008. Before taking up the CEO role, Adrian was group director of property and construction, winning PPA business publisher of the year and PPA business website of the year in 2007. He started his career as a journalist, spending eight years as editor of Building, during which time the title won PPA business magazine of the year three times. Adrian has an honours degree in history from Warwick University.

Ruth Carter
Chief Executive Officer, UBM Conferences -
Ruth was previously Managing Director of CMP Information’s Conference business from March 2007 until her appointment as Chief Executive Officer for UBM Conferences in July 2008. She is responsible for launching and developing UBM conferences around the world, working closely with UBM’s senior management, publishers and event directors to create major launches from UBM's unrivalled content and customer communities.
Before joining UBM, Ruth was Managing Director of Emap’s conference business. She grew this operation from scratch to one of the most successful and respected conference companies in b2b media. Prior to Emap, Ruth worked with IIR for five years where she managed businesses in London and North America. Ruth is a graduate of the Trinity College of Music.

Ninan Chacko
Chief Executive Officer, PR Newswire -
Ninan was appointed Chief Executive Officer of PR Newswire in February 2008. Ninan was Chief Commercial Officer of Worldspan, the worldwide travel information, e-commerce and service provider to travel suppliers, agencies and corporations. Prior to Worldspan, Mr Chacko spent more than 13 years with Sabre Holdings, a leading supplier of distribution and technology solutions to the travel industry and Sabre’s former owner, AMR Corp. A native of Malaysia, Mr Chacko was educated in Asia, Europe and the United States, earning a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Kansas.

Philip Chapnick

Philip joined the company in 1987 as Editor-in-Chief of Al Expert Magazine and has held a wide variety of editorial, publishing and management positions. As CEO, he is responsible for connecting specialized professional communities worldwide: game development, software development, IT service and support, and customer management. An avid collector of books, coins and antiquities, Philip has a Bachelors Degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Andrew Crow
Deputy Chief Financial Officer -
Andrew qualified as a chartered accountant with Deloitte Haskins & Sells. With Deloitte and subsequently Coopers & Lybrand he undertook a wide range of advisory and consultancy roles for major clients, focusing on the retail and leisure sectors. Andrew joined United Business Media in 1997 as Group Financial Controller and was appointed as Deputy Chief Financial Officer in 2001. Andrew is a graduate of the University of Bristol with an honours degree in Mathematics and Statistics; he also holds an MBA from Warwick Business School.

John Day
Chief Executive Officer, UBM Global Trade -
Prior to being appointed to the post of Chief Executive Officer of UBM Global Trade in April 2009, John was CEO of UBM's forestry products information and intelligence business, RISI. John joined RISI from his role as chief financial officer of UBM’s US-based technology businesses. Before that appointment John spent five years based in Hong Kong as chief financial officer of UBM Asia. In each of these positions John played a central role in the acquisition of a wide range of assets and businesses that now make up significant parts of UBM’s technology and Asian businesses. John’s early career was as a chartered accountant, in public practice and supporting large international corporations with financial assurance and transaction support services, mainly in the UK but also for extended periods in Australia and the US. He was based in London and a partner in the international accounting and financial services firm, BDO.

Jennifer Duvalier
People and Culture Director -
Jennifer joined UBM in September 2007 as Group People and Culture Director, with a focus on executive talent management and organisation development across UBM.
Jennifer spent the previous four years as Group HR Director with another media group, and had previously spent seven years in management consultancy with the HayGroup, working with Fortune and FTSE 100 organisations in the US, Europe and Asia on organisational change, top team development and leadership capability. During this period, she spent a year on secondment to the Cabinet Office, working on a project sponsored by the Prime Minister to encourage greater interchange between leaders in the public and private sectors.
Jennifer’s first career post university was in corporate finance and international private banking, in the UK and France. She has an MA (Hons) from Oxford.

Henry Elkington
Chief Executive Officer, CMPMedica -
Henry joined UBM in August 2005 as director of corporate development, M&A and was appointed Chief Executive Officer of CMPMedica in May 2006. He has extensive experience in corporate development having spent 16 years at the Boston Consulting Group, where he advised clients on strategy, M&A and post-merger integration in a wide range of industries from telecoms, media and pharmaceuticals, to banking, retail and consumer goods. He became a partner and director in 1996, and was part of the leadership team of BCG's technology & communications practice. In 2004 he established his own consultancy practice advising CEOs. Henry graduated from Cambridge University with a degree in electrical engineering and won a Harkness Fellowship to study technology and public policy at MIT.

Jime Essink
Chief Executive Officer, UBM Asia -
Jime took up his post as Chief Executive Officer of CMP Asia, now UBM Asia, in November 2007. Jime has long experience of leading and growing B2B media businesses in emerging and developed markets throughout Asia and Europe. He joins UBM from VNU Exhibitions where he worked since 1999. Based in Shanghai as CEO of VNU Exhibitions Asia, Jime was responsible for VNU's portfolio of more than 20 Asian exhibitions which serve a wide range of B2B and consumer markets. In 2006 he was appointed CEO of VNU Exhibitions Europe and President of VNU Exhibitions Asia, spending a week a month in China. Before joining VNU, Jime also spent seven years as managing director of Miller Freeman Netherlands (now CMPi), organiser of among others the Pharmaceutical and Food Ingredients events.

Robert Faletra

A professional journalist, Robert joined the company in 1989 and during his tenure,CRN become the largest Channel-focused trade publication in North America. As CEO, Robert heads Everything Channel which provides a wide range of media services and business tools for Solution Providers and IT suppliers to run their business. Considered an authority for solution provider and distribution channel issues, he is a frequent speaker at major industry events and top manufacturers’ private gatherings of solution providers. Robert is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Simon Foster

Simon joined UBM in 1999 as head of marketing for the Fire, Safety and Security business. In 2003 he moved to the Netherlands to take charge of the successful Food and Pharma Ingredients global portfolios. As chief executive he is responsible for driving the worldwide growth of exhibitions and related products serving markets and communities ranging from Food ingredients to Cruise Shipping. Simon is a marketer by profession having graduated from Newcastle University with and honours degree as well as a degree in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK).

Neil Mepham
Head of Taxation -
Neil qualified as an accountant in 1987, having trained and qualified with a small firm of chartered accountants in the city called Hope Agar & Co. On qualification as an accountant, he joined Deloitte Haskins & Sells corporate tax department. He worked there for a period of 11 years through their various mergers with Coopers & Lybrand and then PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Neil worked on the MAI UNM account as an advisor from 1993 through to 1998 when he joined United News & Media Plc as Head of Tax. Neil is a graduate from Warwick University with an Honours Degree in Economics.

Paul Miller

Paul has held many positions in electronics media and information since joining the company 18 years ago. As CEO, he is responsible for TechInsights’ product portfolio and has spearheaded its global expansion into market and competitive intelligence and professional consulting services with innovative acquisitions including How Machines Work Corporation and Semiconductor Insights. Paul graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a B.A. (Hons) Degree in Communication Studies and is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (ACIM). He also earned a Diploma in Marketing at Croyden College.

Shane joined UBM in 2007 and is CEO of UBM BEAM. Additionally Shane is Chief Financial Officer of ubmi responsible for Finance and IT across UBM Live, UBM International, UBM Built Environment and UBM Conferences. Before joining UBM, Shane was Deputy CFO of the German pay TV operator Premiere, responsible for Finance and Investor Relations, where he managed the Company’s 2005 IPO. Prior to Premiere, Shane worked with Dell Computers in the UK business and before that spent over six years with the Coca-Cola Company in a variety of finance roles both in the US and internationally. He qualified as a chartered accountant at KPMG where he started his career in 1987, following his graduation from University College Dublin where he read law.

Jane Risby-Rose

Jane was appointed CEO of UBM Live in July 2008 having been UBM for 16 years. She is responsible for driving the development of UBM's UK and international business in a wide range of markets including Security, Air Traffic Control, Interiors, Customer Management, Leisure, Safety, Meetings and Technology. Prior to joining UBM, Jane built her career at VNU and Haymarket. She holds an honours degree and post-graduate in International History and Politics from the University of Leeds. In 2008 Jane was voted the most influential person in the UK events industry.

Anne Siddell
Company Secretary -
Anne joined UBM in June 1997 from House of Fraser plc where she was Company Secretary. A solicitor by training, Anne spent several years in private practice in the City specialising in media and intellectual property law before joining the TVS group, where she spent six years first as in-house lawyer and subsequently as Group Company Secretary and Head of Legal Services. Anne graduated from Leeds University with an honours degree in Spanish and Portuguese and qualified as a solicitor in 1979.

Tony Uphoff

Tony started at the company in 1987 and throughout the 1990s he headed the Business Technology Group and was publisher of InformationWeek during its rise to #1 market position. Tony rejoined UBM in 2006 after working at Nielsen Business Media, as publisher of The Hollywood Reporter and President of the Film & Performing Arts Group. Prior to that Tony was CEO of the internet media company BeliefNet. As CEO, Tony is responsible for TechWeb’s leading business technology brands: such as InformationWeek, the TechWeb Network, Interop, Web 2.0, Black Hat and The Financial Technology Group®. Tony attended San Diego State University.

Peter von Moltke

Peter was appointed Chief Executive Officer of UBM Aviation in May 2009. Peter joined from Amadeus, a leading distribution and technology services provider to the global travel industry, where he was Senior Vice President, Airline Business Group, based in Miami, Florida.
Prior to his 5-year tenure at Amadeus, Peter was President & CEO of Lufthansa Systems Americas, Inc., a $1.2bn revenue subsidiary of Lufthansa Group specialising in the provision of IT products and services to airlines and travel companies.
Peter has also held a number of senior management positions with leading travel businesses including Orbitz LLC, one of the world's largest online travel companies; the Travel & Transportation division of Unisys; and the Sabre Group (at the time a subsidiary of AMR Corp/American Airlines). He has also been on several boards, including SH&E, Airline Automation Inc, and Teradata Inc.
Born in Johannesburg and educated primarily in South Africa, Peter holds a BSc in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Witwatersrand. He spent the early part of his career as an engineer with The Boeing Company and Gulfstream Aerospace.
